Mindfulness ✪
To be conscious or aware of something
Coming off of the Olympics I'm in this mode of chasing dreams at the moment.
Saw this from @therossharkness on Instagram and loved it as a starting point:
"Figure out 3 things: 1. What you want in life 2. Who you need to become 3. What you need to do to get there"
This summer, even before the Olympics, I've really spent a lot of time working on these 3 things and I think it's important that we are constantly checking in with this especially when we're trying to change our circumstances and chase a dream.
Mentionable ✪
Refer to something briefly without going into detail. Important or noteworthy, memorable
Piggy-backing off of the previous section, as I mentioned I’ve been relentlessly working on chasing dreams this summer. In this 5 minute video from Ross he breaks down the steps and I feel like I’ve followed very similar ones recently.
For example, with Step 1; I’ve become very particular and protective about doing my best to spend my time in a way that aligns with my dreams and what I find meaningful. Sometimes it’s a harsh truth, but we do have the ability to at least be honest with ourselves of if our actions are aligning with what we say we want. Yes, we all have responsibilities and we can’t simply uproot everything because it’s not how we want to spend our time. However, what I’ve found in this experiment I’ve been doing is that the more I push to spend my time in alignment with prioritizing my goals and fulfilling my purpose (instead of putting those dreams on the back burner) the more things fall into place in creating the life I actually want and the more I feel like I’m living my life with purpose. And living with purpose is an often overlooked component of wellness and vitality.
Then with Step 5: the disappearing. I totally feel like I’m in another season of disappearing and relentlessly pursuing my goals and what I find meaningful. I did this when I was getting my real estate license and I’m doing it again as I’m working on a career transition back to the world of kinesiology, exercise science, fitness & wellness.
Here’s hoping that I’m closer to my utopia at the end of these next 6 months.
Motivation ✪
Meant to inspire: being mentally stimulated to do or feel something
"The important thing isn't to achieve all your dreams, but to keep dreaming. Your desires change as you learn and grow. Old dreams will spawn new dreams. And eventually, one of these new dreams. And eventually, one of these newer, more refined visions will find their moment and become reality." — James Clear
