I recently spoke with an owner of a local cold therapy/sauna lounges and we were talking about how important and influential our thoughts are. Never underestimate the power of your mind and self-talk. This is something I have to constantly catch myself and get intentional about.

I've been saying for years that my discipline comes from doing cold plunges every morning when I was a swimmer. Since ending my swimming career I have said I will no longer get into a cold pool unless I wanted to. Last month I went to check out a new sauna/cold therapy lounge in town with a friend and, in conjunction with cold plunging/infrared saunas seeming to be all the rage the past year or so, I've been considering dipping my toe into the icy pool. My girl Jill recently had a podcast discussing the benefits and mechanisms with one of the top brands in the industry and if you're curious I'd suggest giving it a listen because there are definitely some unsubstantiated claims people make with this alternative modality.
