Mindfulness ✪
To be conscious or aware of something
Within the last week I've talked to quite a few people who are experiencing S.A.D. and the winter blues make them feel like they haven't had the motivation to workout. This makes me sad to hear because, for me, working out is my favorite me time and my way of getting into a meditative state (even though I may be listening to podcasts/music) and ignoring the rest of the world for an hour.
For this week, I would love if you prioritized gifting yourself an hour to intentionally move your body. If you can’t commit to an hour, start with just 20 minutes and go on a walk while you listen to a podcast. Or get your blood flowing and wake up your muscles with a yoga flow (a friend told me they love this week of 20 minute flows if you need an idea of where to start).
Be protective about your daily workout because I know it will bring you peace of mind. (see quote below)
Mentionable ✪
Refer to something briefly without going into detail. Important or noteworthy, memorable
Since it's Jillian Michael's birthday month we'll just keep the ball rolling with some other top, must listen podcast episodes of hers! This one is all about understanding how blood sugar and metabolism play into disease, but in a way that's actually understandable and actionable. Highly recommend this listen to understand why everyone is talking about blood sugar lately and what it even means.
Motivation ✪
Meant to inspire: being mentally stimulated to do or feel something
"Frankly, the most valuable items in our house might be a squat rack, a bench, and a set of weights. I thought I was purchasing gym equipment, but I was actually buying peace of mind." — James Clear
