Welcome to wellness with Making Momentum! I’m honored to be a part of your journey.
I started Making Momentum because I’ve always had a massive passion for health and wellness. As a kid, I became hooked with Jillian Michael’s mission on The Biggest Loser to the point where I got my degree in exercise science because all I ever wanted to do was study and understand the science behind how we can optimize our health and performance.
Through my years, I’ve always looked healthy and at any health check ups I was considered to be in generally good health. Yet in early 2022 I had a health scare. At the time of the scare, while I was “in shape” by keeping up with my exercise regimen and eating decently, however my stress was constantly through the roof, my sleep was terrible, and my mental and emotional health were abysmal.
It wasn’t until I personally had my own health scare that I realized just how out of balance my health had become and how holistically all of the factors integrate with each other.
For me, it was when I was leaving my biopsy when my mind started swirling with all the changes I could’ve, should’ve, would’ve made to not be in the situation I was in. I began thinking of what was to come if my results were a worst case scenario.
First, I came to the conclusion that I simply couldn’t afford (financially or physically) to be in bad health. Then, I made the decision that no matter what the results were that I was going to learn as much as I could because I had to make even better lifestyle choices that built a solid foundation of health and wellness that moved me towards vitality and away from illness.
By the time my thousands of dollars of (post insurance) medical bills were done, it seemed everyone was telling me how either they personally, or someone they were close to, was having a health scare of their own.
All of which has led me to want to share all that I continue to synthesize and gather about how we can take control of our health and wellness level at an individual level. In the crusade for vitality and against disease, the simple truth is: there is no one way to wellness. However, the one common theme is the behaviors and choices we make.
I’m not a doctor, what works for me may not work for you, but I hope to pay it forward by offering some education and inspiration from what I’ve studied, learned, and been inspired by.
There’s a saying: “if you don’t make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your illness”. So, regardless, my hope for you is you take time at least daily to show up for yourself and make your wellness and vitality a priority, however that may look for you.
