Mindfulness ✪
To be conscious or aware of something
3 weeks after New Years is typically when people lose steam & begin falling off from their resolutions. Not you!
Revisit your why, revisit your plan of action, reflect on your progress so far, reward yourself in some way, & recommit to your goal.
Mentionable ✪
Refer to something briefly without going into detail. Important or noteworthy, memorable
Yesterday was marathon day in Houston! (I write these in advance so we'll see on how the race goes & I'm sure I'll update y'all in a later newsletter.) On that note though...
Over the previous year, once I decided I was going to run the Houston marathon, it was shocking to me how training towards a goal completely changes the game.
At first my goal was to run a half marathon distance without an actual race. I was so committed to that goal & crushed it ahead of schedule. But admittedly it was a little anti-climatic. Still felt amazing & I was insanely proud, but after I did my first race I realized what a game changer it is to have an end date as well as a celebration like a race.
Whether it's wanting to get 10 perfect push-ups or a 10k you want to run for yourself without an official race, training up to something can make your sessions more intentional & make you more committed. Life overall can feel more organized & structured. If you're in a rut and going through the motions of working out, I highly recommend setting a fitness goal for yourself to work towards with some end date within Q1 to re-inspire your routine.
